The
Samsung Austin Semiconductor facility in Austin, Texas is the
first US-chartered wafer fabrication plant owned by the Korea
based electronics giant, Samsung. It has a class one fab
room, which is the cleanest kind in its industry, allowing no
more than 0.5 micrometer particles per cubic foot of air.
This 1.3 Billion dollar facility broke ground on March 1996, and
Elcon was contracted to design the electrical and control system
and provide start-up assistance for that system.
The
design process involved P&ID development, sizing and
specification of all instrumentation and DCS equipment,
assistance in the purchase of major electrical equipment, and
creating loop diagrams. |
